Support for Caregivers
Compassionate, Problem Solving Therapy in Eastern North Carolina
Are you always taking care of others? Are you wanting support in supporting others?
Maybe you have a child with a disability, a spouse with a chronic illness, or a parent who is aging right in front of you. You may be putting others’ needs in front of your own. Perhaps no one else seems to understand the amount of pressure you are under.
With all that you’re giving to others, you’re noticing how this affects everything:
-
- Always wondering when you will get a break
- Missing out on time for yourself, either alone or with others
- Finding yourself sad or angry then being irritated with yourself or feeling guilt for having those emotions
Compassionate, problem solving therapy can help.
It may feel impossible now, but you can find ease in the day-to-day struggles. You can get time back for yourself without feeling guilty. You can figure out how to manage your emotions intstead of letting them control you. And I can help you get there.
Compassionate, problem solving therapy helps you do these things:
-
- Identify what is and isn’t in your control
- How to find support for yourself without negatively impacting your loved one
- Learn emotion regulation tools that will help you help yourself, so you can support your loved ones
I’ll help through this process, tailoring each step to your unique needs and circumstances. My approach to compassionate, problem solving therapy comes from having disabilities and chronic illnesses, as well as a background in rehabilitation studies through which I have supported others with disabilities and chronic illnesses. That means I get it, from both sides.
You don’t have to live life feeling worn out and hopeless.
